Primates of Orthodox Churches will discuss oppression of Christians

The Council of the Orthodox Churches, which is to take place in Crete under the chairmanship of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, will hold a discussion on the harassment of Christians in different countries. This was reported to RIA Novosti by Advisor to the Patriarch Archdeacon John Hrisavgis.

"The issues that Orthodox Christians are oppressed, persecuted, killed in different countries, such as Syria, Iraq, will be discussed by the Council. There are Orthodox Christians in North Africa and in Ukraine. It is true that people shed blood and even life, brother against brother, Orthodox against Orthodox," said the Advisor to the Patriarch.

Recall that the opening session of the Holy and Great Council is to be held on June 20 at the Orthodox Academy of Crete.
