Ex-Deputy Prosecutor of Kiev: Investigators have not finalized Drabinko case
Former Deputy Prosecutor of Kiev Maxim Lenko said that Metropolitan Alexander (Drabinko) gains cheap publicity, claiming his was "illegal detained" in 2013. He said this in an interview to Ukrainian News.

According to Lenko, Metropolitan Alexander was involved in the abduction of the nuns of the Holy Protection Nunnery of the UOC. Repenting his actions, he actively cooperated with law enforcement, revealing the mandatory of the kidnapping.

The ex-deputy prosecutor called a lie Drabinko’s statement that he had been illegally deprived of freedom, being locked up. According to him, Metropolitan asked him to provide security, fearing revenge on the part of the organizer of the abduction of the nuns. At the same time, he could move freely around the city, and in February 2014, according to his statement, the guards withdrew.

Lenko said that the bishop was questioned as a witness and the latter admitted that he called the nuns at the request of his friend, knowing that they could be abducted.

However, the investigation considered an amount of evidence collected against Drabinko insufficient to notify him of the suspicion and the Prosecutor agreed. Perhaps the investigation just flawed to finalize the case," said ex-deputy prosecutor.

On 14 June, 2013, at the exit of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra the abbess of the Holy Protection Nunnery and her assistant were abducted. Before that they had been at the meeting with Metropolitan Alexander (Drabinko).
