The defense has five days to challenge the decision with the Court of Appeal.

On March 14, 2024, the Solomyanka district court of Kyiv, after considering the petition of the SBU investigator, elected a measure of restraint Archpriest Sergiy Chertylin in the form of detention for 2 months. This was reported in the Telegram-channel "Myriany".

Two months, which the priest must spend in the pre-trial detention center, count from the moment of his detention, March 12, hence the imprisonment should last until May 5, 2024.

"The decision is political, unmotivated. I am imputed ... what the investigation chose me to be," commented Father Sergiy.

The lawyers said they would file an appeal within a five-day term.

As reported by the the UOJ, in light of the detention of journalists and human rights defenders by the SBU, the UOJ sent an open appeal to international human rights organizations.
