The head of the Representation of the UOC to International European Organizations, Bishop Victor (Kotsaba) of Baryshevka, commented on the recent statement of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky on his TG channel that the Ukrainian authorities will continue gender policy.
The hierarch noted that this is not the first such statement from representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.
“One gets the impression that Bankova has decided to finally and irrevocably move towards those already pressing “European values” that pursue the goal of promoting the LGBT ideology and other concepts alien to our people,” he wrote. “In this regard, many of our fellow citizens are concerned: why do we need some incomprehensible and alien "values"? Why should they impose them on us, allocate material resources for propaganda, use all possible means of convincing that they are really "valuable"? Can’t our people have their own values – cultural and religious? Can it be that a nation with century-long traditions, which built Kievan Rus, actually created the world's first Constitution and throughout its history has tried to follow the path of the Gospel, has nothing to offer the other nations of Europe?"
According to the hierarch, the urgency of the issue of state policy on the family is also explained by the fact that Ukraine is rapidly dying out.
“According to the latest data, in 2050 there will be no more than 25 million of us left. This means that the Ukrainian authorities, as never before, should focus on strengthening the institution of the family rather than promoting gender ideology. If the rate of extinction of Ukraine does not decrease, then in 50 years there may simply be no one left on our land who could be considered a Ukrainian. Today, in the interests of our people is the assertion of primordial Christian values, the development and strengthening of what has shaped its consciousness and determined its place in the world,” emphasized Bishop Victor (Kotsaba).
As reported, YouTube blocked the story of Ukrainian journalists about the Istanbul Convention.
