The court has declared the ownership of the Intercession Church Illegal and returned it to the state.

On July 19, the court returned the national architectural monument "Intercession Church" in the village of Parkhomivka, Kharkiv region, to state ownership, reports UNN.

The court ruled that since the "Intercession Church" is listed in the Register of Cultural Heritage Monuments that are not subject to privatization, it could not be transferred to any other ownership.

As a result, the court annulled the certificate granting the religious community the right to use the property and declared the decision of the Parkhomivka Village Council Executive Committee of June 3, 2009, No. 35, which formalized ownership rights, illegal.

Officials from the Ministry of Culture stated that they, along with the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, "protected the state's right to manage the national monument, as it belongs to all Ukrainians".

As reported, the Ministry of Culture’s commission visited the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra, promising to "Ukrainianize the monastery".
