Patriarch Porfirije is confident that "the doors of the Patriarchate in Peć will open sooner or later, by God's providence, not only for us, but for every person!"

On 14 May 2024, the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Porfirije, commented on the ban on entry into Kosovo and Metohija for him and seven other bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, as reported by the publication slovoljubve.com.

The Patriarch stated that "there is no defeat in Christ" and added that "by His Resurrection, Christ, showing love for His Church and His people, confirmed and showed that every victory is within Him."

"That is why we are confident that the doors of our Patriarchate in Peć will open sooner or later, by God's providence, not only for us, but for every person!" emphasized the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

As earlier reported, on 13 May, Kosovo authorities banned Serbian Patriarch Porfirije and seven other bishops, who were travelling to the Patriarchal Monastery of Peć, the ancient spiritual capital of the Serbian Orthodox Church, for the occasion of the regular session of the Holy Synod, were banned to enter the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.
