The meeting of the Masons with Catholics "will allow religious leaders and Masons to freely discuss issues of reconciling the Masonic values with Catholic ones."

On February 16th, Italian Freemasons and representatives of the Roman Catholic Church will hold a conference in Milan on the topic "The Catholic Church and Freemasonry", as reported by the infovaticana.com website.

The event will take place at the headquarters of the Ambrosianum Cultural Fund and will be attended by Mario Delpini, Archbishop of Milan, Monsignor Francesco Stagliano, President of the Pontifical Academy of Theology, and Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio, Honorary President of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts.

The organizers of the event consider it "a meeting that can be defined as historical, where the centuries-old and complex relationship between the Catholic Church and Freemasonry will be studied."

The head of the Italian Freemasons, Stefano Bisi, will deliver a lecture on the topic "Freemasonry between Ratzinger and Bergoglio".

According to the Freemasons, the conference is "an important moment of dialogue that will allow religious leaders and Freemasons to freely discuss issues of reconciling the Masonic values with Catholic ones."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Vatican prohibited Catholics from becoming Freemasons.
