Deputy Foreign Minister thanks Phanar for recognizing OCU by other Churches

The representative of the ministry thanked Patriarch Bartholomew for the consolidation of the Ukrainians and efforts aimed at recognizing the autocephaly of the OCU.

On November 30, 2019, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Bodnar met with the Patriarch of Constantinople at his residence, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reports on its Facebook page.

Vasily Bodnar congratulated the Phanar’s head on the feast of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called, whom the Patriarchate of Constantinople considers to be his heavenly patron. The deputy minister also expressed gratitude for the efforts that the patriarch made to recognize the OCU by "sister Local Churches".

Vasily Bodnar noted the support provided by the Patriarch of Constantinople to the Ukrainian community in the Republic of Turkey. The representative of the ministry emphasized that the actions of Patriarch Bartholomew consolidate the Ukrainians and allow cultivating long-standing Ukrainian traditions outside the homeland.

In turn, Patriarch Bartholomew wished Ukraine peace and prosperity.

As reported by the UOJ, the Patriarch of Constantinople thanked the head of the Church of Alexandria for recognizing the OCU.
