The Catholic hierarch noted the progress in the development of the Catholic Church in Ukraine: "For 26 years we have made a step from the Stone Age to the modern civilization today ... If someone told me at the time that we would have our social centers, help centers, orphanages like Caritas, I would say, "Well, there are different fantasies, but that's too much!" The churchmen made most of this time for the development! "

According to him, Catholics enjoyed it best of all to "work with Kuchma". "He was neutral. Neither Orthodox nor Catholic. A typical communist, but often remembered God," the Bishop stressed." The clergy did not meet with anyone as often as they did with Kuchma."
