Ukrainian boxer, world champion, parishioner of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Vasily Lomachenko sent his Olympic gold medals (Beijing 2008 and London 2012) to make a pectoral cross for his father and coach Anatoly Lomachenko, according to the Instagram page of the Krestik Reznoi workshop.

The medals that a person got with blood and sweat; the medals he has put his whole life on; the medals that went down in the world history of sports. How much spirit, courage and nobility on needs to make a pectoral cross from them without hesitation for the closest and dearest person – the father! There is no end to our delight and respect, Vasily Anatolyevich, I bow to you! God is the guide,” says the message from the Krestik Reznoi ("carved cross" - Trans.) workshop from Kostroma.

Vasily Lomachenko timed the gift to coincide with the 57th birthday of his father.
