Non-binary representatives from Ireland at Eurovision in Sweden as part of the group Bambie Thug made a performance in which they recreated the atmosphere of a spiritistic session with the invocation of unclean forces surrounded by candles, and subsequently danced with the "devil".

Initially, the participant appeared on stage in a black grunge dress with feathers, and on Bambie's witch-like head, dark horns could be seen. A real "devilry" took place on stage during the performance: Bambie Thug lit candles around a pentagram, dancing with the "devil".

"Even more viewers were amazed when in the middle of the number the 'devil' stripped the performers of their clothes, after which they remained on stage only in underwear. At the end of the performance, Bambie Thug subdued the 'devil' with magic," comment the media on the performance.

As noted by the Irish representative, the song tells about the feeling when someone's potential goes unnoticed, and it is also an ode to the LGBT community. Bambie said that they are very proud to be the first non-binary person to represent Ireland in a Eurovision grand final. This comment was met by rapture applause and shouts of congratulations.

The commentator of Eurovision from Ireland, Marty Whelan, believes that Bambie Thug performed a brilliantly staged act that mixed danger, melody, and the art of dark forces, and it ended with a call to "Crown the Witch!"

"I’m super proud. Our team is very small and I’m an independent artist. It’s incredible that we reached here. See you Saturday!" said Bambie.

The artists qualifying for the final were congratulated by the Prime Minister of Ireland, Simon Harris. He wrote on social media X: "Congratulations to Bambie Thug, who has qualified for the Eurovision final tonight. Bambie will become the first Irish act in the Eurovision finals since 2018. It is time to bring the Eurovision back to Ireland and Bambie is the act to do it!"

According to Eurovision.TV, Bambie Thug is "smashing through gender and socio-political stereotypes".

Before the first semi-final, Ireland was predicted to take fifth place, but after the performance, the odds of winning increased. Now the performers are in fourth place with a 5% winning chance.

As the UOJ wrote, Paris decided that the Olympic flame should be carried by a transvestite.
